okay if you havnt seen the ending by now, it's just what you expect. Jimmy goes off to france and the rest you can figure out. It's a sad movie but one with hope. I like how she kind of turned her attitude around to love. i think thats the point he changed the couple enough to let them see what they really wanted in each other while obtaining some comfort for himself all because she decided to be unselfish and marry him. it was very bitter sweet.

WOW, CROW, CAN YOU BE CLEAR OR DON'T VOLUNTEER TO HELP. JAMES STEWART'S CHARACTER DIES IN THE WAR IN EUROPE AS A MARRIED MAN HAVING WRITTEN NUMEROUS LETTERS TO HIS BEAUTIFUL WIFE, MISS SULLAVAN'S CHARACTER. SHE IS DEVASTATED AND IN THE END SEEMS A BEAUTIFUL AND CARING PERSON. IT HAS TO BE SEEN TO BE BELIEVED AS UNFORTUNATELY YOU MISSED THE BEST PART, BY FAR, OF THE ENTIRE STORY.

Am I the only one who thinks the movie is kind of creepy in that to join the story together Jimmy Stewarts teaches Ms. Sullivan's character to not be cynical, to embrace romance, then he gets killed so she now can appreciate Walter Pigeon has loved her all this time and they can marry. What happens if does not get killed?
