This movie is a gas!

I strongly disagree with critic Malcolm.

The movie is a laugh a minute.

Victor Moore was great, who 10yrs later was in"It Happend on 5th Avenue"...the whole cast was great to watch.

I agree. This movie is delightfully fun, lighthearted, and entertaining!

Movies have to be appreciated for what they are. If too much or, by contrast, too little, is made of or expected from them, they don't work.

This movie is one that cannot be taken seriously. The premise makes little sense and; from the opening scene, straight through to the outrageous end, it's pure, unadulterated silliness.

During the Depression Hollywood seems to have cranked out a great many of these relatively short, over-the-top, screwball comedies. I've seen quite a few and love them all.

I can see how audiences of that time would have loved to sit back, laugh, and forget their problems for a while. For some, life outside the theater was difficult and scary but inside there was a certain level of fairness and equity.

Love, a common theme, cost nothing and was accessible to all, rich and poor alike; so too were the problems that often accompanied falling and being in love. This was especially true when the lovebirds hailed from different socio-economic classes. What a great reminder that we all have problems that, one way or another, must be dealt with and overcome.
