Lovely sharp tony comedy

Just caught it on cable. Theme of young poor beautiful-to-be girl woman
getting tutor points from world wise older lady friend. They 'plot' to
snag that rich husband that is out there for the plucking.
Charming portrayal of the girl is quite winning. Softens the
underlying concept of war of the sexes.
Older woman schools here with knowledge that "women control 70% of
the wealth in US". And 'modern idea' that men engage thru their eyes
not thru their stomachs. Thus women must spend the bucks on dress up.
Idea is men will endure middling food if the female companionship eye candy
makes up for the food's heartburn.
So begins the game of snare the male pheasant.
Good time actors' treat. Crisp knowing lines. Light and airy but
not gummy sweet kind. Refreshing treat that stood test of time.
Little bit of a stage play feeling to structure but again for the good
since rolls along fast in best way. Just mention stage factor to
suggest the higher quality to the writing and playing.
