Douglas Fairbanks Jr

I love watching this film due to the handsome leading man Douglas Fairbanks Jr. This is an excellent movie and Douglas Fairbanks Jr should gain more attention. He's such a great actor who has appeared in a variety of great films.

I completely agree with you. I've only had the pleasure of seeing this film twice, unfortunately. But I loved it both times and I still love it to this day.

The first time I saw it, it was on PBS and I reluctantly fell asleep at it, but NOT because I was bored. I was so tired, but I really wanted to see it because I had never seen it before. However, sleep overtook me and I never got the chance to see it all the way through.

I woke up just in time to see the ending, though.

And I almost wanted to cry at the fact that I got to see how intelligent, charming, handsome, and romantic Douglas Fairbanks was in the final scenes in the movie where his character finally gets together with Danielle's character and I also wanted to cry at the fact that I missed seeing these characteristics of him earlier in the movie because of sleep.

The second time I saw it, I can't remember if it was again on PBS or TCM--this time around. Regardless, I finally saw it all the way through and it was so marvelous. I literally fell in love with Douglas Fairbanks, Jr. after I saw this film, I kid you not.

I agree with you again--this movie really is an excellent film; it's really and truly a rare and wonderful gem; a diamond in the rough if you will.

Douglas Fairbanks, Jr. really was the epitome of class, style, beauty, charm, grace, intelligence, eloquence, brilliance, and romance. He was definiutely a romantic, dreamy, and handsome leading man and I feel that he should be more recognized than he actually is.

I hope that I can see this movie again sometime in the future.

It's so great to know that there are others who appreciate Douglas Fairbanks Jr. He is my absolute favorite actor and I always look for all of his films. I bought The Rage of Paris on DVD from the Turner Classic Movies website about a year and a half ago and I was surprised to find out that it was actually available on DVD. Thanks so much for responding to my original post.

Oh, no problem. It was really my pleasure to comment on your thread. But I should really thank YOU for starting it. Thus, thank you. =)

When I saw your post, I knew that I just had to express my feelings and appreciation for Douglas Fairbanks, Jr. about how much I loved this film, his leading role in it, and my all-around love for him as an actor, romantic leading man, and person.

Both Mr. Fairbanks and the film truly deserves the said praise, appreciation, and recognition. And I hope we can talk about this often, even if it's just the two of us... for now, lol.

And I totally DO appreciate Doug. (I hope it's okay if I call him that, lol). I more than just appreciate him, though. I just totally love him and during these past few days, he has quickly become one of my favorite actors, tying with my all-time favorite actor... Gregory Peck, lol.

(Greg has been my favorite actor for about 10 years now. So, I'm really glad that it was Doug who finally made it to the top to join him, albeit 10 years later, lol).

Wow; that's so cool. You're so lucky that you have the DVD!

I know what you mean. I've actually made sort of a promise, vow to myself to buy all his movies that were able to be preserved and come on DVD when I have the means to do so. I would so love to own all of them that are available. And I'm so glad that TCM has The Rage of Paris; thus, I can't wait to own it, lol.

One of the first live stage shows I ever saw was a touring production of MY FAIR LADY, in which Douglas Fairbanks, Jr. played Henry (he, of course, was the big selling point). Too young to remember who else was in it, or many details, but I do remember I LOVED it! Would love to see DF Jr.'s movies, especially this one.
