What a grand movie Pygmalion is

I'd seen the version several years ago and also was lucky enough to see it on the stage with the great Sir Robert Stephens as Higgins...of all the Higgins, in my humble opinion, Mr. Howard is simply the best. While I like My Fair Lady, he and Miss Hiller have a chemistry that is absolutely stunning. This was pre-Gone With the Wind and proves how great Mr. Howard could be when cast in the right role.

As far as I am concerned comparing Pymalion to My Fair Lady is an apples and oranges sort of thing. I do prefer Jeremy Brett as Freddy to David Tree but because of the directorial choices in the original film. Though it won't happen because of the upcoming remake of My Fair Lady (Lord give me strength!), I'd love to see Ralph Fiennes or Kenneth Brannaugh give Higgins a go.
