The cane scene...

When Preston (Fonda) takes the cane up to Julie's (Davis) room to supposedly thrash her the scene seems to linger on that thought. As Julie tries to play her mind games with Preston she glaces at the cane 3 or 4 times as though she's half expecting him to use it. As a result the scene has an almost erotic vibe to it. Just a thought...
