Cocaine anyone?

Am I the only one who hears Hepburn suggest that someone needs a little cocaine? Roughly 20 min. in, during the playroom scene. I've wondered about this for decades. Peace...

Just watched this for the first time in years, then came on here to see what others thought. Having read your comment I had to re-watch that scene.

I *think* what you may have mis-heard is Linda saying ' We'd better give him some coaching' (then they start to give him tips about how to impress the father). Not cocaine. Haha. Although that would have been interesting ;)

Not as interesting as Cary Grant's real-life experiences with LSD in the 1950s.

I'm not crying, you fool, I'm laughing!

I don't quit understand your wonderment.

Cocaine was used quite extensively all through the early part of the 1900's. It's one of the lines in Cole Porter's "I Get A Kick", and was a key ingredient in the original Coca-Cola.

It was also famously used by Sherlock Holmes.

Basically, I don't understand your question. Cocaine may have been given a taint by Reagan's misguided "War on drugs" since the 80's, but it has had a very different use in reality, and has been quite commonly used.

What exactly is your question?
