I am so sympathetic for this poor girl. She is pretty much trounced on and made fun of during the entire movie -- and she's a dear. I love Martha Raye and always thought she was a terrific, funny actress -- who can pull at the heart strings with her tears!
shareI agree...she's simply wonderful in this film. She saves it from becoming too outlandish by projecting a warmth and vulnerability that works for the character and is very appealing. Having Betty Grable play the more narcissistic, selfish sister provides a nice contrast.
shareI thought Letty was the much more attractive of the two sisters. Although she wasn't as classically attractive as Betty Grable's character, she was the one I'd have picked if I'd had my choice between the two because of her inner beauty.
