I haven't actually seen this one yet. I like these kids'-plight movies (as I've probably just typed several times) and Old NY and I've enjoyed all of the Dead End Kid movies. Some people may say that the old movies' Kids-in-reform-school plots were overdone, but there's something about rooting for kids overcoming oppression/unbeatable-odds that I like, and the whole kids-at-odds-with-society characters/plots. So I'll keep watching the ones I can find. I actually just found a website that has a lot of the old movies that you can't find anywhere else...I think it's called Forgotten Films. It had this one and I'm looking forward to seeing it. A few of the Dead End Kids (and some of the others who were in the later Bowery Boys movies with them) were in some other Kids-in-trouble-with-the-law-reform-at-odds-etc movies without the others and they sound like they could be interesting ones too, unfortunately, I still haven't found these on VHS or DVD. If you liked this, based on what the plot sounds like Boys Town and it's sequel Men of Boys Town are both of the same storyline (especially the second one). Of course, you have to remember that Catholic priests were looked at differently back then and ignore today's viewpoint of priests as you watch them, but they're both very enjoyable flicks.
