I'm watching it now. What a meaty movie! Too bad TCM doesn't have more showtimes. Very well done movie.

loving the sound track music from KING KONG..

Come to think of it, I guess it is.

My only other comment about the movie is I think the women are too "glamorized" with the perfect hair dos and makeup. I just don't think it'd be that way in an actual prison. JMO.

Thought that track music sounded familiar from King Kong. I was admiring how "cute" some of these women looked until it hit me that a lot of them are the same age as my grandmother!

I never even heard of this movie until I saw it on the schedule yesterday, but I've become awfully fond of Sally Eilers over the last few years (and I'm also a sucker for "women in prison" movies), so I thought I'd give it a look.

WOW! Great movie. I love the way Sally Eilers always takes everything so seriously no matter how silly the movie is, and she really delivers in this, all moody and sulky and mad at the world.

And as an extra added bonus, there's Anne Shirley! I love her to pieces! She's probably best known as the girl that Marlowe (Dick Powell) ends up with at the end of Murder My Sweet, but she's just as memorable in this as the nice girl who ended up in prison because she took the rap for her fella.

There's a lot of prison clichés, but would you watch a prison film that didn't have a riot, an escape attempt, corrupt matrons and a rough and tumble prison population that don't like snitches?

And Jack Carson is in it for like two minutes!

It's barely 75 minutes, so you have no reason not to watch it if you like prison films from the 1930s.

Janet! Donkeys!
