On TCM right now, hilarious scene in classroom

Those were real inbred kids. Loved when the bird crapped in the kid's book.

If you put me on ignore, then how can I notify you when I win the lottery?

Thu pidjun dropped on muh book! Even better, that kid's shirt was more hole than cloth.

Are you kidding? They really showed this on TCM?

If so, did they say anything about it or its history by way of introduction?

I think it was on at 4am EST and had no intro. I don't remember where I got the filming location from. There is info on the internet about its filming and its star, who just died recently.

I know all about its filming location and its star. I wrote an article about it which included interviews with its stars. Much of the information on this site about the film came from my article. I was just wondered whether perhaps TCM had used the information or had uncovered anything new on its own. But thanks for replying!

Impressive! Cool, you know more than I do about it, for sure. Yeah, this was truly underground for TCM.

By the way, it was this guy, the kid in the classroom, whom I believe was given some praise for his performance by either the director or the producer and encouraged to become an actor. They were either trying to calm him enough to do the scene or were subtly mocking him. Anyway, the girl who did Shirley Mill's swimming scenes and who was a lifelong resident of the community, told me that he later, when he was a little older, actually went to Hollywood to seek a career, but he had no contacts and little money so would up having to return home.

Last I heard, he is still alive. I was told that he was seen in town but she doesn't know his name and there's no way for me to find out who he was, so I'm sorry I won't get to hear his memories.

I would have loved to have talked to those people. I imagine this movie was one of the highlights of their lives.

With majority of people owning dvrs and even a few with vcrs, broadcasting anything at an hour when few will be awake to see it doesn't work anymore. As late as the 70s, yes it would have, but not now.

Side note: I used to get a charge out of some bright people who had their vcr flashing the number 12:00 meaning they didn't know how to set the clock, much less program for recording. And some of these were college graduates. A basic video player was all they needed.

Wow, that's bad when the school cannot afford a decent roof.
