More than One Kiss In Carefree

So everyone says "Carefree" has the first onscreen Astaire and Rogers kiss. It also has the second, though it's so quick and done so cleverly that I don't think anyone has noticed it.

During "Change Partners," at the coda when Ginger moves into Fred's arms and they ALMOST kiss, he turns her and they do the almost-kiss again (SUPER hot chemistry right there, btw), where Fred's back is to the camera. However, as he turns Ginger so that her back will be to the camera, you can see also that as she comes around she doesn't turn her face, and he does, so that for a very quick moment he's kissing her. If you look you can see Ginger move her mouth too, but it's just a glimpse before she turns.

I have yet to decide if that's Tony kissing Amanda or Fred kissing Ginger. For those who are interested, on the DVD it's at about 1 hour and 17 minutes in. Whatever it's meant to be, it's crazy romantic and exactly why I love their movies so much.

I didn't know about that. Before watching this film I was watching their other ones. I kept saying, "Kiss her you fool. Kiss her!" OR "Just kiss him already!" lol

For those who are interested, on the DVD it's at about 1 hour and 17 minutes in.
