Amanda's first "under the influence" scene was pretty funny... but that slo-mo dancing bit was just stupid.

At least Rogers didnt spend 90 percent of the film hating and insulting Astaire as she did in so many of their movies. i miss E. Blore and E. Horton.

In this movie there's an attempt to give their story a plot. Usually their movies are light on plot and heavy on dance numbers but this one kind of departs from the formula. I don't have a problem with that aspect of it; the departure, it's good to change things up occasionally. What I don't like is the premise that he's her doctor.

He comes across as a quack that caused more problems than he solved. For her to end up with him in the end would have been cause for malpractice and an inappropriate patient-doctor relationship. As the friend of her fiancé, even before their first meeting I felt he was too involved with her to have her as a patient.

Later when she says he's in love with him; that would have been a big red flag. Not only is he a bad doctor but also a disloyal friend. I also didn't like when Amanda goes on a shooting spree. I don't have a problem with guns but she was chasing people around and shooting wildly. That's irresponsible behavior especially in a comedy.

Come to think of it she was walking in traffic, throwing batons, kicking canes, kicking policemen. Sure some of it was funny but it just seemed odd for one of their movies. Ginger was good at it though. Her crazy eyes made her look completely out of her mind.
