And it has it's moments, but I can see why audiences didn't care for it originally. Too forced, and silly, and after all, a tame leopard as the main factor? Ok let them fall in love, that's nice, but losing and chasing a leopard? No thanks.

I agree. Check out my post on its AFI listing. To make it part of a greatest movie list and leave off a ton of gems is crazy.

I found the movie to be utterly charming and, at times, laugh-out-loud hilarious. I hadn't seen this movie for perhaps two decades and had forgotten how much I enjoyed it previously. Can't understand the animosity toward this film.
