1. Everyones favorite: "Because I just went GAY all of a sudden!"

reply

That's a great one, but my favorite is:

"Now it isn't that I don't like you, Susan, because, after all, in moments of quiet, I'm strangely drawn toward you, but - well, there haven't been any quiet moments."

LOL! That's probably my favorite.

Some other good ones:

"My dear sir, it never *will* be clear as long as *she's* explaining it!"

[after Susan has tossed rocks at the window of Peabody's would-be patron] "Oh, I know we ought to go now, but somehow, I can't move."

Ha! Such a great line.

All this machine does is swim, and eat, and make little sharks. -- Matt Hooper, JAWS

For years, my favorite line was David's "I'll be with you in a minute, Mr. Peabody." Now I find myself cracking up every time Susan says "Everything is going to be all right."

David discovers the leopard in Susan's bathroom]

David: Susan, you have to get out of this apartment!

Susan: I can't, I have a lease.

reply

I watched this a year or so ago, and had forgotten about the "Everything is going to be all right" line. But now that you mention it, I remember that it left me and my friend helpless with laughter. I'm looking forward to seeing the movie again this Sunday at a local theatre!

"It's as if God created the Devil...and gave him...JAWS"

reply

The very first lines of the film:

David: Alice, I think this one must belong in the tail.
Alice: Nonsense. You tried it in the tail yesterday and it didn't fit.

reply

HA!

From inside the jail cells:
Susan: "When they find out who we are
they'll let us go."
David: "When they find out who YOU are
they'll PAD THE CELL!"

reply

"I was born on the side of a hill."

This is one of mine. And the most memorable for my kids. When they forget who Katherine Hepburn is, I say this line and they remember! LOL

reply

You know, I remember seeing this back in the sixties as a kid. I didn't remember until seeing the dog and leopard scene, where they were playing with each other. Watching it today? It's a raunchy film for it's time, lol. All the little gags and writing - I cracked up every time they mentioned "Miss Swallow", and the Gay scene? Awesome. The best scene? The bedroom scene when they discover George took the bone. Grant's holding that long box at crotch level. Both he and Hepburn are using hand motions with the box as a prop while using the word "bone" in every line. Want to know where "dick in a box" came from? Don't know how they got this past the censors. Very rare to be able to create a kid/adult crossover film that's done this well. Those that don't get the humor in this thing aren't looking "hard" enough.

::David raises the boot to hit Susan::

"Don't hit George, David!"
"I wasn't gonna hit GEEORGE!"

The whole scene at the dinner party at the beginning. Especially when David hits Susan's butt with the top hat, and Susan turns to him and says, in that Katharine Hepburn voice, "what is tha matter with you??"

::Susan begins to sing::
"I can't give you anything but....."
'Shut Up!"

"I'll be with you in a minute, Mr. Peabody!"

"Look what you've done!"
"Oh, that's all right, I'm insured."

"I mean, if I were engaged to you, I wouldn't mind waiting at all. I'd wait forever."

"Is there anything in the world that doesn't belong to you?"
"Yes, Thank Heaven, YOU"

My favorite movie.
