MY FAVORITE MOVIE OF ALL TIME

This my favorite movie. As a kid I always watched it whenever it came on TV. When I was a teenager, they stopped showing it, and for years I would scan the TV guide
for it. ( I'm 55 years old, no cable, no VCR ) Then when I was 24, I saw that it was showing at a revivele theater 30 MILES AWAY! So I got up early the next morning, and had to take at least 3 buses to catch the afternoon show.
So now when people ask me what my favorite movie is, I answer without hesitation,

" THE ADVENTURES OF TOM SAWYER"

Wow I admire your enthusiasm. It is a wonderful movie. I’m glad you have posted a great comment about it. I thought it was really good for its time or just really good anyway. Tommy Kelly was a really good pick, he makes me laugh and cry a lot in the film.

Well said. A truly great movie. I'm also 55 and I saw it first in a movie matinee as a wee lad.
I was looking at a 'Favourite Movie Endings' message board post just now and Tom Sawyer came to mind straight away.
The spoilt kid getting the greatest comeuppances of all time -i.e. the cake in the face AND the massive slap as well - is the most perfect and satisfying ending to any film ever!!
Absolute classic.

I laugh every time at that ending.
"Aunt Polly!"
It was about time Sid got his comeuppance. No other Tom Sawyer film has been, or will ever be, as good as this one.

This is so funny because I am also in my mid-fifties. They used to run this film on television all the time. I believe the original print is in color! We all loved it when Sid got the cake in the puss along with Aunt Polly's great last line. I won't say it because that would be a spoiler. I'm dying to find this on DVD. Come on, MGM/Selsnick. Please bring it back!

It is a good movie. I think that it is the best movie version of Tom Sawyer.

This is the only version of this movie I've seen. I don't even think I've read the book. It's not my favorite movie but I enjoyed it. I thought it both interesting and a little weird how the kids were involved in a couple of romances. And, Tom came across as a little player the way he was with Amy and Becky. It was cute but, as I said, it was also odd that they'd get engaged.

Woman, man. That's the way it should be Tarzan. [Tarzan and his mate]
