Prtety good movie.

I was a little reluctant at first, but the film ended up being pretty good. I really liked Lolli. I think the movie shows a great detail of emotion. Stella trying to do what she THINKS is best for her likeable daughter, and Lolli doing what she wants, which is what is best for her stuck up self-centered Mother, and that's be there for her. Her mother is just in denial.

Great movie expressing just human emotion. Pretty impressive especially with how old this movie is.

My thoughts exactly.

"Your hair was darker then."
"My heart was lighter then."

I thought it was super.

Evidently, the public thought the 1937 movie was so good, it went onto radio as a serial, lasting 15 years. I wonder how the story line went with the characters through those years. Anyone know how I can find out?

Beetiesmom, I found these, however not all still available, but something for us to watch out for, there's also a vinyl album of a Stella Dallas radio soap listed on eBay.

Thank you, bill3-1! You're a peach! I noted that Dick's mother, the uppity Mrs. Grosvenor, apparently spares no expense at trying to break up her son's and daughter-in-law's marriage......with Stella to the rescue.

Are you going to try to read the book? I really loved it!

reply

Definitely! It'll be the next book that I buy, really looking forward to reading it.
