Yeah, he was good. And I just looked him up and saw he was the Skipper's (Gilligan's Island) dad-in real life. Who knew?!

You must be quite young,only learning now his connection to the Skipper-who went by Alan Hale Jr while his pop was alive.

Surely you jest?....I assume you tune into TCM often-Alan Hale will pop up all the time,especially during"The Essentials" films.
The last "Essential" I saw him in was "It Happened One Night"-with Claudette Colbert and Clark Gable-thats a film to watch if you haven't.
