I caught the showing of Stage Door on TCM last night. I don't think I had seen the film for 40 years. What struck me most among all the fine actresses in this film was how incredibly beautiful Lucille Ball was at age 26. Her face was stunning from all angles. She was IMHO the prettiest actress in the film ... followed by the incredible 14 year old Ann Miller (who looks 23 !)

sharePeople tend to think of Lucy as "that screwy redhead" but when she started she was every inch the glamour-girl.
And yes, while watching this I thought of the initial I LOVE LUCY Hollywood episode where they run into Eve Arden at the Brown Derby!
Thank you...when I read the post above yours I said, "Wasn't that the Brown Derby?" Then I saw your post . I'll be thinking of that episode next time I watch Stage Door.
