"I love a sense of humour"

"Yes, I can tell by the size of your shoes."

This what Jean (Ginger) says to her blind date when they meet at the door. The film then cuts to the room full of girls laughing. Pretty racy, or maybe I'm just imagining the meaning of the comment.

No, not racy; just another one of Jean's caustic put-downs. She's essentially calling the guy who made the comment a clown, because clowns have always been associated with enormous footwear.

Interesting how Lucille Ball's character ends up marrying one of the "clowns" (Jack Carson, aka Mr. Milbanks) by the final fade-out.

Jean hates dancing with these guys because they're clumsy and always step on her feet :p
