I hate her goodbye with the dwarfs

OK, this is not meant to be some, "Snow White it so awful" thread like the ones a lot of people post, so I hope the hardcore Snow fans don't get too defensive here. But I just have to say, it really bums me out at the end when the dwarfs are clearly so heartbroken to see her go, knowing they'd probably never see her again, and Snow is just all perky happy as she waves goodbye. I know she's happy her prince finally came, but that moment, to me, just made her look kind of shallow or even cold.

And I know she and the prince are supposed to be love at first sight, but still, it seems like she had gotten really close to the dwarfs as well.

Yes, I realize we don't know she never saw them again; maybe she frequently went to visit them. But still, living with someone and then moving out is a sad moment. Things will never be the same. It's the end of an era. That's why parents are so sad when their children move out, even though they're obviously happy they're growing up well, and they'll still see them all the time.

That's one thing Disney has gotten better at over the years -- wrapping up all the loose ends and making it a happy ending for *everyone,* not just the hero or heroine.

I understand what you are saying, but I never felt the ending was too bittersweet

I felt the dwarves were happy for Snow White and that they would stay in contact with each other as they were the only friends Snow White had, I'm sure they were invited to the wedding and to the castle frequently. 

Yeah. It would have been nice if there were a line about her putting them up in a nice house in the village so they didn't have to toil away a the diamond mine anymore. Or, even better! They should have shown her wedding to the prince with the dwarfs there and revealed that they made her diamond ring.

reply

Yes they should have gave the prince the diamond ring to give to her.

"Unicorn, mermaid, vampire, sorceress! No name you'd give her would surprise me i love whom i love"

reply

I always assumed that they stayed in contact. They wee clearly just friends. The dwarfs are much much older than she is so they couldn't expect her to fall in love deeply with any of them.

reply

They were actually glad to get her out of their house, after weeks of picking up after her, listening to her screechy voice, and having to put the damned toilet seat down.
