Adolf Hitler liked this movie

According to what I have read, this and "King Kong" were two of his favorite movies. I wonder why...

Because he had good taste? You know, every aspect of one's personality needs not be linked in any way to one's ideologies and/or beliefs. There doesn't have to be a reason.

In the case of Snow White, it should be noted that it's a German fairy tale, so that probably had something to do with that. Otherwise, he just likes this movie and King Kong, both of which were popular films of the time.

Joseph Stalin loved Laurel & Hardy films, & used to watch them with his cronies.

Hey even genocidal bloodthirsty dictators like good movies

Because a good movie is a good movie.

According to one documentary, Hitler was supposed to have watched 'The Lives Of A Bengal Lancer' (1935) several times. That would have been more his type.

Hitler had hoped to capture Clark Gable alive because Gable was his favorite American movie star.
I'd hate to live with THAT as my legacy!

Not only did Hitler love this movie, he also drew paintings of the various dwarfs. Very strange man.

What's strange about fanart? People still do that today.

I wonder if gnawing jealousy comingled with admiration. I heard Goebbels (or Goering?) found Gone With the Wind to be a marvel, but he was also furious with envy that the US was able to create something so splendid. (I imagine color and clarity, costumes, and believeable sets --not the struggles of a spoiled girl-- were what intrigued him. Not sure whether the fact that so many Hollywood moguls were Jewish played a part.
