Out of print in Australia at the moment

I can not find an original copy of Snow White and the Seven Dwarves 1937 animated classic anywhere in Australia's retail outlets and further research has found that it's simply out of production here in Australia at the moment, which is a crying shame because classics like this should never go out of production for too long. I was however able to find a special edition souvenir with a nice booklet inside from ebay, USA.
This will not play on my Blue Ray because of the useless Country coding rules and I say useless because I have seen for myself copies of brand new movies available at markets and I've heard of many cases of people downloading current movies for nothing.
I've just noticed that they are showing special screenings at the Theatres here in Australia in this month of March, 2014 and so hopefully a special edition Blue Ray will eventually follow for Australians sooner than later.

It's out of print in the US as well. And, the attempt to wipe out film ''piracy'' by encoding discs so they often won't play in ANY machine is absolute insanity.

A lot of DVD and Blu-Ray players region setting can be easily unlocked with a code inputted through the remote (or something similar). Might be worth checking out.

Well, the manner in which piracy has skyrocketed and become an nonpunishable "norm" is also insanity, so it's appropriate the studios are taking precautions that result in an inconvenience for those of us who understand the danger of piracy and behave according to the law.

You apparently don't know about the Disney Vault. Disney tends to put their classics on store shelves for a very limited time, as an urge to get as many people as possible to buy them for full price, after a while they remove them from shelves for long periods of time, and it's almost impossible to find a decently priced second hand copy (In AUS and NZ at least). Here in NZ, on TradeMe (Prices in New Zealand Dollars), a guy wants $70 for a Blu-ray of Beauty and the Beast, and $120 for the 3D Edition. It was pure chance I happened to find a Blu-ray copy of Sleeping Beauty for only $22, I clicked the Buy Now in a heartbeat, the seller had no idea what they had, I got offered a Blu-ray of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs for a measly $37, but someone beat me to it.

Favourite movie of all time: "Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan"

It's been re-released again in the UK, but only as a 1 disk blu ray.

I am happy to say that a special edition Blu Ray has been now available in Australia for some time now. this was the first fully animaited Cartoon which paved the way for all other Movie cartoons. A true classic and a big win for Disney, not only financially but for the future of animation.
