Pat O'Brien was a friend of my fathers

A great movie to watch from the perspective of actors and life in the 30s. Well directed and well shot, you get a chance to see Pat Obrien and Henry Fonda in great character roles. Most people remember Pat only from his role as a priest, but he had that certain scallywag personality in all his films that made him a great screen personality.

When WWII broke out, Pat and my father flew cargo planes over the hump in the China Burna India theater of the war. My father said his off screen personality was the same as his on screen. He always had that twinkle in his eye and was always looking for the humor in every situation.
