Was this a dialogue goof by Gable?

In the scene right after Carol's father died of a heart attack, we have Carol at the bank phoning up Duke Bradley (Clark Gable) at his hotel room, urging him to come down to the bank and meet with her and the banker, a guy named Mr. Kenyon, who's sitting right there with her. Duke makes some funny wisecracks about what an old granite-face this Kenyon guy is, and how when he was born, they had to open his mouth with a chisel, etc. etc. Carol, impatient with Duke's banter, insists that he come down to the bank right away and meet with her and Kenyon. Then Duke says something like, "I haven't even had any breakfast yet, can't you bring Madison up here?" Well, Madison (Hartley Madison, her fiancé) had nothing to do with the meeting at the bank. I think Gable said Madison when he should've said Kenyon.

I don't think it was a fluke, he wanted her to bring Madison up so he could try to hook him into placing bets. When she arrives at his door he says "Where's Madison?" I doubt he would have made the same error twice without it being noticed.

You may be right. I'll have to look at it again next time it comes on and see how it plays out. It really threw me, though. Gable can be such a fast talker in films, that sometimes you wonder if he muffed a line, or maybe he's talking so fast that he's already way ahead of the viewer.
