This is now available in the Warner Archive Collection.

It appears that Warner is dumping tons of films onto the market in these bare bones presentations. I guess they're bailing on the idea of gradually restoring each of these old films, such as this one, Quality Street. The WAC series has no menus (or, rather, totally generic menu), no subtitles, no languages, no restored image or sound, they're just putting them onto DVD and hurrying them to market.

All the same, this film, with it's many scratches and a few missing frames here and there, still looks pretty good. Better than any old VHS you're going to find.

While I've been greatly enjoying all the terrific issues from Warner of so many classic films on DVD, with all the trimmings, like the whole "night at the movies" programming where they include a short, a cartoon, a newsreel and a trailer, I guess that it should be no surprise that not all old films are going to get that treatment. This WAC series has made a lot more classic films available in a very watchable format.

could it be that they would loose the copyright if they don't sell it? I've seen some movies on google videos or archive.org (like the thin man or it happened one night). But i'm just guessing now.
