chick flick

Remake of the 1927 Marion Davies dealio; pity they didnt give eric blore a larger part... could have spiced up the film. interesting bit about whether or not Phoebe is really chaperoned at one point, since we were deep into hays code by this time. LOVE those hats with those curtains that open and close.

Yeah - the hats freaked me out the first time they did it! LOL!
What can I say - I'm a sucker for chick flicks. Actually, I'm just catching up on Hepburn movies I have missed. She is too good not to see all of her movies! (big heart!)

Were those hats or lampshades ??

I love this film. I wish James Barrie's romantic comedies would enjoy a revival like the Jane Austen phenomeon, they are really enjoyable. Of course, Austen is public domain and Barrie might not be which may be the hindrance.

This was one of those very rare occasions where I had to shut the movie down. After 40 minutes, I just couldn't take it any more.

It brought back bad memories of the sixth grade, where we had to read the novel Jayne Eyre in it's original old English. That was NOT a fond childhood memory.
