Pretty Good Gene Autry Movie

I am watching this one now on Encore Westerns. It's a pretty good Gene Autry film which is set in the 1930s so that Gene and pals can use modern inventions like airplanes and radios to hunt down the rustlers. Frog has a little more slapstick in this one than usual, it seems like.

Ann Rutherford is the leading lady. As usual in a Gene Autry movie, the female lead gets kidnapped by the bad guys during the climax of the movie. Ann was only a year or two away from getting her supporting role on Gone With The Wind.

A typical early Gene Autry western, very good if you like this type of western. I do.
