Claude Rains

Tell the truth didn't you want to have Edward order his beheading after his crimes!! Rains was one evil S.O.B! And if they were going to let Claude Rains live it made no sense to have Errol Flynn kill off Alan Hale in a duel when Hale clearly had remorse and didn't want to kill Edward but felt he had no other option. I guess they had to kill off Hale's character though so the finale about proving which boy was King could be milked for suspense

I can understand why he didn't pass off the Death Sentence just to show he would be a Just King. But like you said why not stay the Fight with Alan Hale when he had a chance. The Prince knew what was going on at that moment he could of said "HALT!" or something and had more weight when they rode into London to save the day.

But over all a Great movie and was enjoyable way to spend a Freezing Rainy afternoon safe and warm in my House.

There is more Gravy about you then the Grave. Scrooge.

Never mind Claude Rains, why didn't John Canty get his comeuppance?

reply

Perhaps his son felt merciful? Idea for writers of fan fiction- what if Edward and Miles had been killed and Tom stayed King?

reply

He did! Hendon killed him, I think with his own knife. Edward pronounces the act “just” because Canty was a confessed killer.
