Robert Taylor's character British?

Is Robert Taylor's character, Raymond Dabney, in this movie, "Perosnal Property," supposed to be British? He is not using a British accent? :-) The movie takes place in London and his father, mother and brother have English accents, but Robert Taylor has an American accent. Did I miss something that explains his American accent, or are we just supposed to suspend our disbelief? lol

I think we are supposed to suspend our disbelief. I have heard some British people without much of an accent but Robert Taylor sounded American to me. I was able to get past it though. I am glad they explained that Harlow's character was American--I love her in about any movie but that would have required too much suspension of disbelief.

I think everyone is meant to be British except Harlow, though most of them sound american. i am not sure exactly why the film us set in London rather than America, unless perhaps they don't have bailiffs there.
