The soundtrack is a delight!

I love the melding of melodies in the opening credits and the use of music throughout. But, the IMDb listing is far from complete. I'll start with the opening medley:
"Irish Folk Song Medley"
Traditional Irish music played over the opening credits include
"The Minstrel Boy"
"Irish Washerwoman"

I also heard these tunes:
St. Patrick's Day
Garryowen aka GarryOwen
Rocky Road to Dublin

Later, I heard fragments of these songs:
The Orange & the Green
Garryowen
The Minstrel Boy

Following "London Bridge", the track includes "British Grenadiers".

I'm going to keep listing, as I'm not quite at the half-hour mark, where Billie Burke (who was played by Myrna Loy in "The Great Ziegfeld" and who appears in that scene with her) is playing "Kathleen Mavourneen", or so they say. It doesn't sound like the song I've heard sung so often. Sometimes, Irish songs when hammered into less-traditional modes sound entirely different.

Thanks for adding this info. :O)

You're welcome! I love traditional music, particularly Irish (where most of my ancestors came from, mainly during the Great Famine). I play many of these songs on the bowed psaltery.

I'm always listening for "new" songs, ones I haven't encountered before. I was delighted to hear one in "Young Cassidy".

One of the reasons I like checking on the boards is running across comments by people who have knowledge on specialty subjects. Thank you for sharing this.

You're welcome.

I've finally cracked the method of adding information at IMDb, so I might start doing that with more films. I know that, upon watching certain movies, I've checked the Soundtracks listing at IMDb and either found the information missing or else the list lacks the title(s) I'm looking for. So, if I can fill in details, I'll be pleased to do so.

Next time I see "Parnell", I'll try to keep a closer record of what melodies are used where.
