Move over, Darling

I think the remake with James Garner and Doris Day was better. It was essentially the same movie but I think they did a better job the second time around. It would have been even better without Don Knotts and his jackass acting.

I've not seen the remake and wonder if I'd have a bias since I've always loved Grant and Dunn's chemistry. As for Knotts, he's adorable!

I agree. This movie wasn't funny to me, but I'm not a great fan of screwball comedy.

I tried to watch My Favorite Wife and while Move Over Darling pretty much follows the original, I'd have to choose the remake as the better of the two. As much as I like Cary Grant, he hardly showed any emotion over his wife coming back from the dead after 7 years. James Garner did it so much better. I just found it too boring to finish the movie.
