The elevator door

Have you ever seen such a bogus Hollywood depiction as when Emmy Lou escapes being taken to "the river" by pushing the elevator operator and hitting the door close button on the elevator in the nick of time? That door looked like a cardboard piece being pushed through a pocket and it happened so fast, not like a real elevator door closing.
