Vanning's Attorney...

I just finished watching this film and I'm pretty bothered by the fact that Vanning's attorney wasn't arrested for accessory to kidnapping Emmy Lou. It's a great movie but that aspect of the film was very unsatisfying for me personally. At the very least that guy would've gotten disbarred. I would've thought Emmy Lou would've spilled the beans about that or said on the stand, "You let them hide me in your house", etc. I'm guessing it was something to do with the production code about authority figures staying squeaky clean.
