Not shown often enough on TV

I haven't seen this movie for many years... but I can still remember enough about it to convince me that it's an ancient treasure that should be shown more often on TV. I certainly must have missed a few of the TV airings over the years, but I suspect it hasn't been shown often enough, especially compared to some of the other cr@p that is shown every month-or-so (seems like!)... Most of the younger generation have not been given the opportunity to experience this rare treat.
Here in the UK, Channel 4 show quite a lot of old "classics" in the early afternoon... Recently, they've shown "Niagra", "Lost", and "The Silver Fleet", (along with many others) but the last time I saw "The Man Who Could Work Miracles" it was shown in the wee small hours of the morning... when most people are asleep in their beds. Okay, okay, the early afternoon is a time when a lot of people are at their workplaces, but this scheduled time slot is far more promiment in the TV listings, so not as easily missed when you're setting up your VCR or DVD recorder!

Sorry, if I was ranting a little!

You are so right about the scarcity of showing of this great movie. I first saw it as a child of about 7 and was enthralled. It has been many years since i last saw it and I feel sure that I and many others would enjoy it many times over.

Perhaps we can persuade the powers that be to show it again??

I recently bought a DVD of this movie through Amazon.co.uk and it only cost a few quid. The special effects were really very, very good... for a movie so old!! Much more believable than "King Kong" made just a few years previously. A lot of the audiences at the cinema's in 1936 might have believed that these were genuine miracles.
The impact must have been quite amazing, if not quite alarming!!

James,

I had the presence of mind to put it on my Dish DVR. I'm watching it as I write this. I'm a fan f H.G. Wells, yet this is the first time I have watched this movie. More after I have seen it fully.
