I watched it yesterday. I agree that is melodramatic, but enjoyable. At 71 minutes, it's not as long or as glossy as the 1966 Lana Turner version. But I like it better than the Turner version.
shareI just watched it. Different turns in the story from the Turner version. There is another 'other woman' and no 'mother'? I wonder which is closer to the original play. And yes, at 71 tear-stained minutes, this one gets right into the meat of things at frame 1. I liked it and thought Gladys George did a really intense job of aging and drinking.
