plotwise really disappointing

i really like the idea of Utopia
and was always fascinated about it.
so i was really looking forward to see this film,
but at the end i was really disappointed.

you dont get to see so much about this world,
you get no real insight,
plotwise nothing really happens after they get there
and the ending was just boring.

even a 45mins episode of star trek was able to give more insight of such an idea.

sure, the actors are charming
but if there is not a good plot there should be at least a psychological deepness with the characters
which i was also missing.

sure, its an old movie
anyway i am a guy of today
and it should better work even nowadays to be real(!) classic.

its just good and okay

The plot should have been how the newcomers destroy Shangra-La with their western ways and faults. That would have been infinitely more meaningful than what we got.

"Worthington, we're being attacked by giant bats!"
