That 'disgraced officer' scene reminded me of TV's 'Branded'

Anybody remember the TV series "Branded"? It was on TV in the mid-sixties, and starred Chuck Connors as Jason McCord, a U.S. Army cavalry officer falsely accused of cowardice. Every episode started with an iconic scene of McCord standing before the assembled officers and men at some army fort, then being stripped of his military regalia, and his sword being snapped in half over some officer's knee. Then he was turned out of the fort, to fend for himself. It was a very emotional image, and I recall growing up with it and having it stick in my mind through the years.

Anyway, the scene in this movie where Capt. Dreyfus is similarly booted in disgrace from the military, his sword being snapped in half over someone's knee, brought back memories of the "Branded" series.

I found a clip of the opening scene of "Branded" on YouTube (this was played at the beginning of every episode, BTW):

Yep. When I saw the scene, I thought of "Branded" as well!
