The most complete film actor of all-time

Muni is quite simply in a class by himself. He could and did play just about any type role at the highest level. He was in reality the greatest character actor in film history, but had enough screen presense to carry any film as a lead. He did not make that many films but the few he did make all almost all "must sees". Among his other great films are: The Good Earth (his best film), Black Fury, I Am a Fugitive From a Chain Gang (his best performance), Scarface, The Story of Louis Pasteur, Juarez, and The Last Angry Man. In a way, he created film acting and set the standard. Brando was quite influenced by Muni.

I have only seen a few of his films, but I agree completely. The fact that he read everything Zola wrote and shot the film in reverse order so he could use his real beard, shows just how dedicated he was. Amazing actor.
