Two versions....

...I noticed that in the theatrical trailer, there's a scene (starts 2.05) with Dion, Jack and Belle that didn't appear in the 95 minute (90 min UK run time) version I saw. Now I discover there was a so-called roadshow version of 111 minutes. Is this print still extant or, if not, what's known about the extra scenes? Did other major films have these extended versions?

The extended version is on the DVD. Some of the added scenes are short clips that just flesh out the plot a bit more. We see Don Ameche meet Alice Faye for the first time, and there is a courtroom sequence where one of Tyrone Power's flunkies is being tried for voting fraud, and Don Ameche is the prosecutor.

From what I've read the 'road show' version is the first version released in 1937/8. In 1943, the film was cut for a re-release and it is that shorter version that ended up on TV and home media. So when I got the DVD, I skipped the shorter version entirely.

When TCM played it last night, it was indeed the roadshow version. Let's hope this is the only one that will be shown on TV from now on.
