John Hall was 1/2 Tahitian

The commentator for this wonderful movie was incorrect about John Hall being the typical white man playing a native role. In point of fact, Hall was the son of a Tahitian Princess, and his dad was Scandinavian. So while he may have favored his dad's ethnicity, if you look closely, you can see some Pacific in his features. Either way you look at it, he was a strikingly handsome, well shaped man, for that day especially. He was perfectly cast. Great movie!!!!

He was half Tahitian? Okay, that explains it. I thought he looked very Polynesian in the movie but then I saw he was from California. I was confused because I didn't see his background information in the bio. It didn't really matter what he was though, he did a great job in the role and also looked the part.

Woman, man! That's the way it should be Tarzan. [Tarzan and his mate]
