C'mon, talk about this movie!

Hey, there's gotta be somebody out there who wants to talk about this movie

Okay, I watched this for my German Film course, which has been rather great so far (Metropolis, Blue Angel, Caligari, Berlin Symphony, etc.)

I would have to consider this film not being up to the standards of the past others, though. It's not a bad film, but I've never been one for the romance genre, and I don't find the characters of Don Pedro and Astree too compelling. Because the film never knows whether to focus on their story or that of the fever crisis, which takes up the majority of the middle. The two plots never truly clash until the climax.

It's still well-shot and the actors do an okay job, but the flaw is a story that feels unjointed. (3/5)

Yippee-ki-yay, pastel-colored resistance!
