meh, the top 250 is worthless anyway.

The dominate age group of IMDb skews young. That pretty much means anything B&W or with subtitles doesn't get a fair shake.

Shame indeed. But there is something strange about "La Grande Illusion". Its note is 8. Therefore, it should be in Top 250, between 178 and 230. But it does not appear anywhere ?
shareFor the top 250 only the votes of "regualr voters" are counted and IMDB does not disclose what criteria is uses to determine who is a "regular voter." The 8 it has scored and is shown on its IMDB page is the score from all voters.
IMDB's top 250 lost any credibility it may have still had when the movie "300" made the list BEFORE it even opened. Since then it has become little more than a dumping ground for the latest fan boy fixation.
Artistic viewpoints in appreciating and understanding the beauty behind such a classic is diminishing, thanks to the media power of studios in advertising blockbuster junk for monetary reasons. Unfortunately, it's all about making money that movies such La Grande illusion are neglected by this new generation.
