Watching Forty Naughty Girls on TCM Right Now

I am watching it right now TCM. This is the least enjoyable film in the series. There really isn't much to the plot. This one has Oscar and Hildegard working independently for most of the movie, as each tries to find clues to the murders. Gleason is great, as usual, but the plot just seems to go from scene to scene and there is no character development at all. As a result, it's hard to keep the suspects straight.

They just revealed the killer, but I am still unclear as to the motive.

I love there series but this the least enjoyable of the movies.

SPOILERS: DO NOT READ UNTIL AFTER YOU HAVE SEEN THE MOVIE!!!

The killer was Ricky Rickmanm the producer of the play. He had a private detective following Rita Marlowe, his fiance and the star of the play, as evidenced by the detective's report left under Mr. Rickmanm's door. Ms. Hildegarde Withers found it when she was examining Windy Bennett, the publicist's office. Ms. Withers went through a closed curtain just behind the desk - it lead to the corridor where Mr. Rickmanm's office is located. Ms. Withers sees the detective's report sticking out just under the door. It was Mr. Rickmanm's jealousy that lead to him shooting Bennett. Ms. Withers determines that Tommy Washburn, the actor who was killed on stage, must have witnessed Rickmanm shooting Bennett so he had to go as well.
