The Elephant co-star of that movie

THE ELEPHANT CO-STAR OF THAT MOVIE WAS KALA-NAG,WHO'S REAL NAME I WAS ABLE TO FIND OUT WAS IRAWATHA. I'M NOT AN ELEPHANT EXPERT BUT TO ME HE WAS THE MOST MAGNIFICENT SPECIMEN OF AN INDIAN BULL ELEPHANT I HAVE EVER SEEN. I'VE WATCHED THAT MOVIE A NUMBER OF TIMES AND NEVER GET TIRED OF OBSERVING THAT BEAUTIFUL ANIMAL.I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO FIND INFORMATION ON THE REAL LIFE OF IRAWATHA,AND WHAT HAPPENED TO HIM.IF ANYONE HAS ANY INFORMATION ABOUT HIM,I WOULD APPRECIATE HEARING IT. THANK YOU

I don't have the information you seek about Kala-nag, but want to let everyone know that the real reasons to watch this movie are for its natural and cultural history aspects. The elephants are absolutely magnificent, and you sense that indeed Kala-nag is the star of the movie. Sabu, unfortunately, speaks English slowly, in broken phrases and with an accent that combined with the old sound make him difficult to understand half the time. A kind of grinning Shirley Temple of the forest. But stay for the lemurs, tiger and those great (and small!) beasts of burden.
