fun mixed up P. Sturges caper

clever script. fun gags, especially in the automat. great cast too... the ever-flaming Franklin Pangborn is awesome. William Demarest as the snooping reporter. Eddy Arnold starting to show his age. Jean Arthur was 5 years older than Ray Milland, but it all works, as long as you buy into the misunderstandings...

Anyone who loves this film would also love an earlier Leisen film,, Hands Across the Table with Carole Lommbard and available on the Lombard Glamour collection. Very similar storyline of rich and poor in New York in the 30s and again, an incident on an open-air bus provides a key plot point.

Thanks for the Lombard movie tip. I'll check it out.
