Where's the DVD of this

I keep emailing the people in charge of this sort of thing, but still nothing.

If you happen to live in a Region 2 area, or (as I've done) flatly refused to ever own a DVD player that was not all region and NTSC/PAL Compatible, then Amazon France has a DVD with an English soundtrack and optional French subtitles for only 9.99 Euros.

Since Joan Fontaine doesn't have the reputation of Ginger Rogers and the marketing at the time was based on Burns and Allen and on P.G. Wodehouse' story and screenplay, I can't see anyone releasing it in the US.

Its been released twice on region 2, in both France and in the UK, hopefully the US will catch up eventually seeing where it was made!

I bought this great movie/musical on DVD, I think I ordered from TMC (Turner Movie Classic's web site) Great performers and great performances.

I am watching my own DVD copy right now - got it from an Amazon.ca sub-dealer, I think. Not very pricey, but no sub-titles. I am reading 'Gracie' by George Burns - put me in the mood for Gracie's madcap humour.

My advice on these old classics: keep checking the sales outlets, esp. Amazon's sub-dealers.. the product may materialize sooner than you expect.
