One scene I didn't understand.

Harvey left his school and went to his dad's work with ink over his jacket. He told his dad that people at school kept him prisoner at school. Harvey wanted his dad to do something about it but his dad had some of the people from the school come over at the house. What did Harvey wanted his dad to do? Get the school to put Harvey in the Buffaloes? And what exactly is the Buffaloes at the school?
