on DVD

A reviewer in this thread mentions a Spencer Tracy dvd boxset in 2006. It's overdue and I hope it includes "Captains Courageous". Meanwhile, you can go to amazon.com, conjure up the title, click on the 1937 item and, when it appears, mouse to upper right box and enter yr email to vote for the dvd edition. That'll let the Whoevers know that release on dvd is the right move, i.e., it will sell.

Today, 11 February 2006, some 69 years after it went out on release, I've got my own copy on DVD. A wonderful film, full of life, humour, affection and a real credit to all the cast and the pen of Rudyard Kipling. Mostly of course to Spencer Tracy and Freddie Bartholomew who express so much through their eyes as much as with their mouths. Hard hearts keep away, it's not for you.

It is on Netflix. I'm watching it tonight.
