LOVE the line by the Admiral at dinner, bragging about his past exploits:
"I took down the pants of half the policemen in town!"
... and later.... Rudy says to Senorina Joan "and of course, you know the Admiral intimately" even though they had just met.
I'm guessing there was "more material" that was cut out of the original--this was filmed in 1937.... during Hayes Code, and there are multiple writers listed for this film. Also, Billie Burke (Glenda the Good Witch) isn't so nice in this film - she knows there is something strange about Joanie, so she keeps making catty remarks about her right to her face...Another great line: "her first letter in 10 days? I'd give my GOOD eye to know who its from!"

also when he is speaking to anni she said and make love to all the girls? and he had a perverted look on his face when he answered yes.. hahah i love joan and franchot

Also see "Midnight" from 1939 ..... similar plot where lead (Claudette Colbert) is an impostor at a rich weekend getaway, and one of her "friends" really does
love her and try to save her before she is exposed as a fraud.
